Welcome to Kerguedalen, the location of our 2 holiday cottages in the centre of Brittany’s
most southerly department, Morbihan - it is the ideal venue for a gîte holiday in
Brittany - and your family dogs are also welcome.
These comfortable, well fitted gites have a relaxed atmosphere and benefit from large
enclosed grounds and a swimming pool with terrace.
In the well cared for garden there are borders which are full of herbs and flowers
that attract masses of butterflies; there is also a separate pond within a safely
Being dog lovers and owners ourselves we appreciate that you prefer to travel with
your dog and we are pleased to welcome them, along with you, to this lovely part
Kerguedalen is a hamlet on the outskirts of the friendly village of Saint-Caradec-Tregomel.
The surrounding countryside offers lots of outdoor activities, including hiking,
horse riding or mountain biking in Pont-Callec forest and canoeing, fishing or swimming
in Priziac Lake. The village has a shop, bar and creperie, or for a wider selection,
it is just a short drive to the shops and restaurants of Gueméné sur Scorff and Le
Children are welcomed here, they are sure to enjoy the spacious enclosed grounds
and, of course there is the 9 x 4.7 x 1.25 metre swimming pool with its spacious
decked surround and recliners for sunbathing (the pool area is fenced and gated in
line with current safety regulations). There are no restrictions on your access
to the pool. It is unheated, however we find it warms quickly in good weather and
we would normally expect the pool to be in use from late May through to September.
As we live next door the pool is shared by us, although we ensure our use of it does
not interrupt your holiday and being close to hand means we can assist our guests
with any questions they may have about the area, or the house.
The location is great for discovering more of this easy to reach area of France:
go to Hennebont on Thursday, when there is a big market, and take a tour of the Haras
where Breton horse displays can be seen; have a day on the safe sandy beaches of
Larmor-Plage; wander amongst medieval streets and half-timbered houses at Vannes,
visit the submarine museum and U-boat bunkers at Lorient and enjoy the annual Celtic
music festival; take a boat trip across Lac du Guerledan, this massive inland lake
has beaches, places to eat, water sports and walking trails around the perimeter.
